A Bond is a sum of money or other valuable(s) used (paid) as Surety for a Specific Purpose such as, Bail being paid to a Bondsman to get out of Jail; Another type of Bond might be Earnest Paid to show the intent to purchase property or a home; A Bond is also described as, to join securely.
Jesus Stands Surety for the Saints thus, freeing a Lost Soul (sinner) from the Penalty of Death. In essence, He Bonds the Repentant Soul (person) to Himself through His Willingness to Die (taking our place) on the cross thus, Securing the Union of the Saints to Himself Forever. Praise His Holy Name!
The Saints are the Lost Souls (people/sinners) that Accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior by coming before the Heavenly Father (YHWH) in, through and by the Precious Shed Blood of Jesus as, the Holy Spirit Calls them.
In Acts 7:8 we read, And He gave him (Abraham) the Covenant of Circumcision: and so Abraham begat Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat the twelve patriarchs.
Circumcision is a Type of a Bond or Surety. This Circumcision separated Abraham and his descendants from the rest of humanity that were still in sin and were without someone to Succor them.
As a rule, when two separate things are Bonded together, there is a notable difference. The same holds true for a Soul (person) that has received the Seal (Bond) of the Baptism of the Holy Ghost; they are distinguishable from those individuals that have not received the Baptism (Seal) of the Holy Ghost.
We read in Acts 7:9-10, And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him, **And delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favour and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house.
What seemingly was an awful thing for the brothers of Joseph to do to him, turned out to be for his good. Not only for him, but for the good of his brothers and the rest of his family; and also for every individual that would have been ill effected by an extreme draught that was pending in the years to come.
Joseph became the Bond or Surety for his father and brethren, to save their lives from certain death, due to a famine.
In Acts 7:25 we read, For he (Moses) supposed his brethren would have understood how that God by his hand would deliver them: but they understood not.
Moses, in the process of time, became a Bond or Surety for the deliverance of the Children of Israel (the Chosen Seed of Abraham, heirs of the Promise); to bring them out of Bondage to the Egyptians.
Moses paid a heavy price (Bond) to seal the deliverance of the Children of Israel from Enslavement to the Egyptians. He was denied the privilege of being fully raised by his parents; by having to flee from the wrath of Pharaoh; and by the burden of leading (overseeing and counseling the Children of Israel while journeying in the wilderness).
We read in Acts 7:37, This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear.
Moses spoke (Prophesied) of the coming Messiah (Jesus) who was to be the Bond (Pay a Costly Precious Price) for ALL who would Accept Him as their Lord and Savior.
The Apostle Paul in 1st Corinthians 7:15-20 wrote, Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. **What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. ***But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
To whomsoever a Soul (person) is Bonded (joined) to, they become ONE in purpose. When an individual works for an employer that employer and the employee have a common purpose in producing a product; or in performing a specific task.
In like manner, when a Soul (person) Accepts Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, they have a Joint Purpose (Jesus and the individual) in Serving the Lord and in endeavoring to see (seeking) other Lost Souls (sinners) to be Saved from sin and death.
*Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. *What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
***For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
The Bond (price) paid for the Souls of mankind is more Costly (Precious) than any Soul (person) could ever afford to pay.
In Colossians 2:10-13 the Apostle Paul wrote, And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: **In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
This New Way of Circumcision (Spiritual Circumcision) is Devine, Heavenly and Glorious in that it is NOT against the flesh. It is a Better (Greater) way of Circumcision; it is a Spiritual Bound.
**Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
Water Baptism, in the name of Jesus, is another form of a Bond that Secures the Repentant Soul (person) unto the Lord.
It is a Conformation of sorts that a Soul (person) has Confessed their sins unto the Lord, in the Name of Jesus, and that they have Accepted the Precious Shed Blood of Jesus for the Remission of their sins. Praise His Holy and Righteous Name!
*And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
To be Alive in Jesus is to have Everlasting Life.
The Apostle Paul in Colossians 2:18-19 wrote, Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, ***And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.
The Saints are as it were, Knit into the Fabric of who Jesus is; making them ONE with Him. The Holy Spirit is the Border of that Garment; and the angels of the Lord encamp round about them to Protect and Keep them from harm or loss.
In Ephesians 1:3-14 the Apostle Paul wrote, Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: *According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: **Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will.
Adoption is a form of a Bond in that Adoption Joins a child of one parent to the family of another parent. The Saints have been Adopted into the Family of God, by a Blood Bond in Christ Jesus.
*To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. *In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; *Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; *Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: *That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: **In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: *That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
The Inheritance of Eternal Life is the Bond of Love that the Lord Gives to His Heirs (Children) the Saints.
***In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.
The Gospel (Good News) is a Type of a Bond that Encourages the Saints to Hold onto the Truth and Sell it Not, Proverbs 23:23.
***Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
The Saints have just begun to Walk in the Light of the Truth. The Joy that the Truth gives in this day and time is but a shadow of that which we will Receive when Jesus Returns to Receive His Own.
Praise His Holy and Righteous Name Forevermore!
