Chance Salvation

To gamble or take a risk or to occur by accident ~

If I were to ask the question, “Would you be willing to wager/bet one penny against winning $1,000.00,” I think most people would say, “Yes.”

Another question I like to ask of those that answered in the affirmative is, “Will you pay off if you bet.” Again, most people would answer, “Yes.”

Then, I would tell them that they have already lost; because I didn’t ask if they would pay off if they lost the bet but, would they pay off if they bet.

If a person says they would be willing to pay off if they bet, they automatically lose, they must pay-up then and there.

It is very important to pay attention to the meaning and content of words, as words sometimes have different meanings depending on how they are used.

In Acts 26:27-29 the Apostle Paul asked, “King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest. Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian. And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds.

When it comes to accepting Jesus, as Lord and Saviour, one does not want to gamble that they will have a later opportunity to ask God, for Christ, sake to forgive them of their sins.

King Solomon said, “Time and chance happens to all.” Ecclesiastes 9:11

Having the opportunity to accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour is not a gamble one can afford to lose.

The Writer of the Book of Hebrews wrote, “Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.” Hebrews 5:11

Does the Word of God seem too difficult or hard to understand? Have we turned a deaf ear to hearing the Word of God?

Are we taking a passive, ho-hum, wishy-washy stance on accepting Jesus as our Lord and Saviour? I’m afraid the answer to these questions, for way too many people, is a resounding, “Yes.”

King David in Psalms 28:5 said, “They regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up.

There is an undesirable conclusion for those that put off accepting the offer of Salvation too long. And there are those that do not believe this, but regardless of what you or I believe, the Word of God is Truth and no lie is any part of the Truth. 1st John 2:21

In Acts 24:24-25, we read, And after certain days, when Felix came with his wife Drusilla, which was a Jewess, he sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ. And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.

Who a person is affiliated with and/or is a part of, will not save them in the day that Jesus comes again to receive His own unto Himself; and to judge the ungodly. Every person MUST and WILL stand or fall on their own merit.

The Bible states in James 2:19, that the devils also fear and tremble.

However, fearing and trembling will not save a person. I think everyone can agree that the devils do not have a chance for being saved.

Proverbs 8:13 states that, “The fear of the Lord is to hate evil.” This is the kind of fear that God wants his children to have towards Him.

King Solomon wrote in the Songs of Solomon 5:2-6, “I sleep, but my heart waketh: it is the voice of my beloved that knocketh, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled: for my head is filled with dew, and my locks with the drops of the night. I have put off my coat; how shall I put it on? I have washed my feet; how shall I defile them? My beloved put in his hand by the hole of the door, and my bowels were moved for him. I rose up to open to my beloved; and my hands dropped with myrrh, and my fingers with sweet smelling myrrh, upon the handles of the lock. I opened to my beloved; but my beloved had withdrawn himself, and was gone: my soul failed when he spake: I sought him, but I could not find him; I called him, but he gave me no answer.

The Word of God states that there is an appointed time to man, Job 7:1 and that the end shall be at the time appointed, Daniel 11:27-35.

It further states, no one knows the appointed time of the END but the Father, “Of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.” St. Mark 13:32

So, knowing this, don’t you think it behooves us to get right with God?

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. Revelation 3:20

The Scriptures state in Revelation 2:21, that God gave Jezebel space to repent, but she repented not. Is our time running out too?

God states in Psalms 103:9, that He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever. There may come a day when a person decides that they want to accept Jesus, as their Lord and Saviour, but it may be forever too late.

Take a look at what King Solomon said in Songs of Solomon 3:1, “By night on my bed I sought him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.”

The Apostle James wrote in James 5:19-20, Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

The Apostle Paul asked the question like this in Romans 2:4, “Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?”

According to the Apostle Paul, today is the day for Salvation, 2nd Corinthians 6:2. And in Ephesians 1:7 he states, “We have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;”

Praise His Holy and Righteous Name!

Today is still the day of Salvation,

Isaiah 49:8 and 2nd Corinthians 6:2.

So, why don’t you take this opportunity to ask the Heavenly Father, for Christ Jesus sake, to forgive you of your past sins (while He is still calling you) and He will answer your heart’s cry and save your soul.

Praise His Holy and Righteous Name!
