Decisions

The act of reaching a conclusion or making up one’s mind ~

We read in 1st Kings 18:21; And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be GOD, Follow HIM: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

Indecision has the potential of causing problems. To appropriately reach a right Decision, one needs to consciously consider the variables.

If the positive of one choice outweighs the negative of the other choice then, choose the one with the positive outcome.

In Hebrews 3:7-13 we read, Wherefore (As the Holy Ghost saith, Today if ye will Hear HIS Voice, *Harden NOT your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: *When your fathers Tempted ME, Proved ME, and Saw MY Works forty years. *Wherefore I was Grieved with that generation, and Said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have NOT Known MY Ways. *So I Sware in MY Wrath, They shall NOT Enter into MY Rest.) *Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in Departing from the Living GOD. *But exhort one another daily, while it is called Today; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

The trouble with some people, in hearing the Truth, is that they are Satisfied with where they are; they have NO Desire to change thus, they are willingly ignorant.

When a person sets their mind NOT to hear, they may develop a tendency of NOT being able to hear.

Several years ago I heard a story about a woman that could NOT stand to hear her baby cry.

So, she determined in her mind that she would NOT pay attention or hear the baby cry. After a period of time the woman got to the point that she could NOT hear anything or anyone.

The woman’s husband took her to see an Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Doctor. After close examination, the doctor reported that he did NOT see any problem causing the woman to NOT be able to hear even though, she was stone deaf.

Therefore, the woman’s determined mind-set to NOT hear her baby crying caused her to become deaf.

In like manner, if mankind’s Decision to refuse to hear the Written Word of the Lord continues to a point that is known to Jesus alone, the hope for that person is NOT good.

Therefore, it is important for the Saints to encourage one another and to edify one another often while there is still hope, because the Time is getting shorter.

The Prophet Joshua in Joshua 24:14-15 wrote, Now therefore Fear the LORD, and Serve HIM in Sincerity and in Truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and Serve ye the LORD. *And if it seem evil unto you to Serve the LORD, Choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will Serve the LORD.

Each of us makes Choices every day. Some Choices do NOT have negative consequences, but others can be very costly if a wrong Decision is made. If we Decide to ignore the Written Word of GOD, there is a Hell to pay.

Therefore, it behooves us to make a right Decision with respect to Serving the Father of Lights, GOD.

In Hebrews 12:1-3 we read, Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so Great a Cloud of Witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, *Looking unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our Faith; who for the Joy that was set before Him Endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the Right Hand of the Throne of GOD. *For Consider Him that endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

We all must make a conscious Decision to Hear and Observe to Do the Written Word of GOD, in order to successfully traverse the Road of Life and Enter In Through the Gates of that City, New Jerusalem.

Jesus is our Example of how to live a Righteous Life. He always Did those things that were Pleasing to GOD.

We, the Saints of GOD, are to Do as Jesus Did and to Speak as He Spoke if we expect to Inherit Eternal Life.

In Isaiah 50:7 the Prophet Isaiah wrote, For the LORD GOD will Help me; therefore shall I NOT be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall NOT be ashamed.

Once a person realizes that they have the help needed to accomplish a task, they are more likely to have the confidence to pursue the doing of the task.

We need to realize that GOD through Jesus Christ HIS Only Begotten Son, by the Power of the Holy Ghost has Provided EVERYTHING needed for us to Live a life Acceptable to HIM.

We read in 1st John 2:24-29, Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the FATHER. *And this is the Promise that HE hath promised us, even Eternal Life. *These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. *But the Anointing which ye have received of Him Abideth in you, and ye need NOT that any man teach you: but as the same Anointing Teacheth you of ALL things, and is Truth, and is NO lie, and even as it hath Taught you, ye shall Abide in Him. *And now, little children, Abide in Him; that, when He shall Appear, we may have confidence, and NOT be ashamed before Him at His Coming. *If ye know that He is Righteous, ye know that everyone that Doeth Righteousness is Born of Him.

When a person can maintain their confidence in a thing, they are more likely to continue in it. There are plenty of people out there that will try to discourage you and get you side-tracked.

This is why it is so important for the Saints to Encourage and Pray for one another. We need to always Speak Truth; then, we will be less likely to fail.

The Apostle James in James 1:25 wrote. But whoso Looketh into the Perfect Law of Liberty, and Continueth therein, he being NOT a forgetful Hearer, but a Doer of the Work, this man shall be Blessed in his Deed.

When you make the Decision to keep the Written Word of GOD before your eyes and in your heart, Jesus, the Word of GOD will Keep you from falling and Help you to Succeed and will Bless you when you lay down, when you rise up, when you go out, when you walk by the way and when you come in, Deuteronomy 28:6

In St. John 15:4-9 we read, Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch can NOT bear fruit of itself, except it Abide in the Vine; NO more can ye, except ye Abide in Me. *I am the Vine, ye are the Branches: He that Abideth in Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth Much Fruit: for with OUT Me ye can do NO thing. *If a man Abide NOT in Me, he is cast forth as a Branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. *If ye Abide in Me, and My Words Abide in you, ye shall Ask what ye will, and it shall be Done unto you. *Herein is My FATHER Glorified, that ye Bear Much Fruit; so shall ye be My Disciples. *As the FATHER hath Loved Me, so have I Loved you: Continue ye In My Love.

We must NOT waiver in our Decision to Know and Serve the LORD. We are Admonished and Encouraged, by the LORD, to be Steadfast in Observing HIS Holy Word.

The Apostle Peter in 1st Peter 1:13 wrote, Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and Hope to the end for the Grace that is to be brought unto you at the Revelation of Jesus Christ.

As there is strength in our loins to pull the load, there is also strength in our Soul when we gird up the loins of our mind with the Written Word of GOD.

Knowing that it Pleased the FATHER  to Give to Jesus ALL things, we can have confidence that through Jesus we too can Accomplish ALL things. Praise His Holy Name!

In 2nd Peter 1:10-11 the Apostle Peter wrote, Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your Calling and Election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: *For so an Entrance shall be Ministered unto you Abundantly into the Everlasting Kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

The Apostle Peter is trying to encourage us to hang in there with Jesus and His Written Word; in so doing we will succeed, because in Christ Jesus we can Do ALL things by the Power of His Holy Spirit.

The Apostle Paul in 1st Timothy 6:11-14 wrote, But thou, O man of GOD, flee these things; and Follow after Righteousness, Godliness, Faith, Love, Patience, Meekness. *Fight the Good Fight of Faith, Lay Hold on Eternal Life, whereunto thou art also Called, and hast Professed a Good Profession before many witnesses. *I give thee charge in the Sight of GOD, who Quickeneth ALL things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate Witnessed a Good Confession; *That thou Keep this Commandment WITHOUT spot, Unrebukeable, until the Appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:

The Apostle Paul is trying to encourage the Saints to avoid the pit-falls of satan by Practicing that which they have Learned from the Written Word of GOD.

We read in Acts 14:22, Confirming the Souls of the Disciples, and Exhorting them to Continue in the Faith, and that we MUST through much tribulation Enter into the Kingdom of God.

Continuing in the Faith is nothing more than Continuing in the Observance of, or in Doing of the Written Word of GOD.

In Jude 1:20 we read, But ye, Beloved, Building Up yourselves on your Most Holy Faith, Praying in the Holy Ghost.

One Scripture states, that WITHOUT Faith it is Impossible to Please GOD. Therefore, if we need Faith, Jude is telling us that to have a Most Holy Faith; we need to Pray in the Holy Ghost.

One might ask, “How do I Pray in the Holy Ghost?” In order to Pray in the Holy Ghost, one must first be Baptized with the Holy Ghost.

Some people believe that they receive the Holy Ghost upon Accepting Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. But this is NOT always the case. A person can be born-again (Saved) and baptized in water, in the Name of the Lord, and still NOT have been Baptized with the Holy Ghost.

To prove this, one Scripture ask the question, Have you Received the Holy Ghost since ye Believed? Acts 19:2 and Acts 8:16 says, For as yet He “The Holy Ghost” was Fallen upon none of them.

We read in Deuteronomy 30:19, I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you Life and death, Blessing and cursing: therefore Choose Life, that both thou and thy seed may Live.

Please Decide to Serve the LORD so that you may Prosper.
