The belief and trust in, and loyalty to God; a firm belief in something or someone that is not physically seen; a system of Religious Beliefs.
We read in Acts 14:27, "And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles."
Faith has been made available to non-believers when they hear the Word of the Lord and accept Jesus as their Saviour.
The Apostle Paul in Romans 10:17 wrote, "So then Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. Faith is a results of hearing the Word of the Lord. We need to take into account that a true hearer is a doer of the Word."
Here’s another thought, Jesus is the Word of God, Jesus is the Word of God made flesh therefore, Jesus is the Faith.
When a person hears Jesus, repents of their sins and accepts Jesus as their Lord and Saviour they receive “The Measure of Faith” spoken of in Romans 12:3 that comes in, through and by Jesus. It is not “A measure of Faith” but “The Measure of Faith” which passes ALL understanding.
In Romans 14:23 the Apostle Paul wrote, "And he that doubteth is damned if he eats, because he eateth not of Faith: (which is the “Written Word of God, the Bible,”) for whatsoever is not of Faith is sin." (“Sin is the transgression of the Law”)
What the Apostle Paul is saying here is, if the Written Word of God “YHWH” says a thing is so then, it is so. If not, then it is a lie because, no lie is of the Truth, 1st John 2:21. Whatsoever we do, we should do according to the TRUTH.
We read in James 2:22 where the Apostle James wrote, "Seest thou how Faith wrought with his works, and by works was Faith made perfect. (Faith is putting the Word of God in action in your life, such as Abraham’s action of sacrificing his son, Isaac).
The doing of the Written Word of God is Faith in action. Doing is the Manifestation of Faith.
The Apostle Paul in Romans 14:22 wrote, "Hast thou faith? Have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth."
If a person allows, or “Assumes” a thing to be true (it may well be true to them) but it does not make it True according to the Word of the Lord. It would then stand to reason, if we want to truly be happy, we must then do the TRUTH.
We read in Hebrews 10:23, "Now the just shall live by Faith, but if any man draw back “with holdeth action of doing,” my Soul shall have no pleasure in him."
The Just are the Righteous. They are the Saints that live by that which is Written in the Word of the Lord, the Bible. However, if a person does not do “Live by” the Truth, the Lord will not be pleased with that person.
The Apostle Paul in Galatians 3:9 wrote, "So then they which be of Faith, are blessed with Faithful Abraham." Abraham was a man that Believed God and lived his life according to the Word of the Lord. If we want to be called the Children of Faith then, we too must live by the Word of the Lord, the Bible.
In Romans 3:27 the Apostle Paul wrote, "Where is boasting then? It is excluded, by what Law, of works? Nay, but by the Law of Faith."
Works is the evidence of Faith; works cannot be denied because Faith, like Love, is an ACTION word ~
We read in St. Matthew 23:23, "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone."
What Matthew is saying here is; you are doing some good things however, there some other things that are also required according to the Word of the Lord; you need to start doing these things while continuing to do the other good things that you have been doing all along.
The Apostle James in James 2:14-19 wrote, "What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble."
Faith in and of itself will not benefit you anything. One Scripture says that the devils believe, they even fear and tremble. James 2:19.
The devils don’t have any chance of being saved. They are reserved in everlasting chains, under darkness, unto the judgment of the great day, Jude 1:6. I think everyone can agree with me on this, the devils are forever lost.
One thing I would also like to mention is: God does not want His Children, the Saints, to live in fear of Him, but He wants them to Hate Evil, Proverbs 8:13.
Let your Faith be seen by all mankind by your observance of and love for the Written Word of God, the Bible.
