Goodness: the state or quality of being good; complete; having desirable qualities serving the end desire; excellent having high quality; superior.
King Solomon in Proverbs 20:6 wrote, Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?
A Boastful and Proud Soul declares their own importance but the Humble Soul is Quiet and Boasteth not.
This thing about a Faithful Soul is very sad indeed; in another Scripture we read of a Soul that is good and hates evil (the Fear of the Lord) there is only one man in a thousand and one woman in ten thousand, Ecclesiastes 7.
We read in Exodus 33:18-23, And he said, I beseech thee, show me thy glory. **And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy.
The Lord Proclaims His Favor by / in His Goodness.
*And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.
*And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:
Jesus was that Rock in the wilderness and He is the Rock on which the Saints Stand today in order to see the Glory of the Lord. One of the ways in which the Saints Stand; is in Observing to Do the Laws and Commandments of the Lord.
**And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by: *And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.
God “YHWH” Looks Through the Precious Shed Blood of His Only Begotten Son Jesus when He Looks upon mankind today otherwise, He (the Lord) would destroy mankind because of their Great Sinfulness. We are Hid in Jesus; our sins are Covered by the Blood that He Shed on the Cross.
Please note: that the Cross on which Jesus Bled and Died is Not a thing to be Worshiped; it, the Cross is an instrument of death; we are Commanded to Worship the Lord and Him ALONE shall we Worship.
In Psalms 33:4-5 King David wrote, For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth. **He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.
Everywhere we look, wherever we go, we can see the Favor of the Lord. No doubt there are times when we didn’t even know that the Lord had shown us His Favor; perhaps, in protecting us from an accident or other problems along the way in our journey upon this earth but yet, His Favor is there.
We read in 2nd Chronicles 6:41, Now therefore arise, O LORD God, into thy resting place, thou, and the ark of thy strength: let thy priests, O LORD God, be clothed with salvation, and let thy saints rejoice in goodness.
The heart of the Saints is the Resting Place that the Righteous Lord Desires to Place His Throne. He Desires to Abide in the life of the Saints.
All throughout the Written Word of the Lord, the Bible, Believers, are referred to as Saints. And that is exactly what the Lord Requires His Children to be.
King David in Psalms 107:8-9 wrote, Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! *For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.
The Lord Abides (Lives) in the Praises of the Saints; He Establishes His Throne their heart and He, if we will let Him, will Rule and Reign in our life and where the Lord Rules and Reigns, there is Favor.
We read in Zechariah 9:17, For how great is his goodness, and how great is his beauty! corn shall make the young men cheerful, and new wine the maids.
The corn that is mentioned in the above Scripture refers to Strong Drink however, in this day and time He sends forth His Holy Spirit to cause the heart of the Saints to Rejoice and be Glad.
One Scripture says it like this, “Ho, every one that Thirsteth, come ye to the Waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, Buy, and Eat; yea, come, Buy wine and milk without money and without price.” Isaiah 55:1
The Favor of the Lord has Provided that which Refreshes and Sustains us.
In Psalms 65:4 King David wrote, Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.
As Queen Ester was given Favor from the King in her day so, the Saints are Given Favor of the Lord to Enter In To and Dwell in His Presence.
We are Called Out and Chosen of the Lord to be His Children; to be a Lively Stone in His Holy Temple in New Jerusalem which is called the Kingdom of God.
The Prophet Samuel in 2nd Samuel 7:27-29 wrote, For thou, O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee. **And now, O Lord GOD, thou art that God, and thy words be true, and thou hast promised this goodness unto thy servant: *Therefore now let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue for ever before thee: for thou, O Lord GOD, hast spoken it: and with thy blessing let the house of thy servant be blessed for ever.
In the natural world, the Lord made Promises to His Children and He Preformed the Doing of them and in the Spiritual Realm. He will also Perform the Doing of His Promises towards ALL of the Saints. His Favor will He not withhold from the Saints that Serve Him.
King David in Psalms 144:1-2 wrote, Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight: **My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me.
The Goodness of the Lord is in His Favor that He shows towards the Saints.
The Apostle Paul in Romans 11:21-22 wrote, For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee. **Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
If the Saints will Continue to Follow on to Know and Serve the Lord in Spirit and in Truth, the Favor will ever Abide (Live) with them. Praise His Holy Name!
In Ephesians 5:8-10 the Apostle Paul wrote, For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: **(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) *Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
The Fruit of the Spirit, Singular, has many segments or parts; if one of these elements is missing in the life of the Believer, the Light that they Produce may Flicker and/or go out. Therefore it behooves us to stay in Favor (Good Standing) with the Lord.
The Prophet Zechariah in Zechariah 10:1 wrote, Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.
The Saints need to begin to Pray for the Out-Pouring of the Latter Rain Holy Spirit with the Gifts and Powers thereof that they come not behind in any Gift, and that they might be Fully Converted and Work the Works of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.
In Jeremiah 31:14 the Prophet Jeremiah wrote, And I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, saith the LORD.
The Lord will Satiate, cause to Over-Flow the Bountiful Riches of the Holy Ghost, and show goodness in everything that they require or have need of. Praise His Name!
King David in Psalms 25:1-10 wrote, Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul. *O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me. *Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed:
The Saints Pray and Seek the Favor of the Lord so that they will not fail in any Righteousness and be overcome therein.
This too is Favor from the Lord.
*Let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.
The Righteous Lord withdraws His Favor from the Transgressor that has Backslidden into sin.
*Show me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. *Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
By the Favor of the Lord, He Sent His Holy Spirit to Comfort, Strengthen, Lead, Guide, Direct and Instruct or Teach the Saints in ALL Righteousness (Right Living).
*Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old. **Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O LORD.
The Favor of the Lord causes Him to Forget the Transgressions of the Soul that Accepts the Shed Blood of Jesus, His Only Begotten Son, for the Remission of their sins.
*Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way. *The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way. *All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
It is in the Good Favor of the Lord that sinners have the opportunity to Accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour and thus, Receive the ALL the Wonderful Blessing that the Lord will Bestow upon the Saints.
In Psalms 23:6 King David wrote, Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
Without a doubt, the Favor of the Lord is ever upon the Saints that Know and Do His Commandments and Laws; upon those that Seek Him and Put their Trust in Him. The Favor of the Lord Follows after and Overtakes the Righteous. Praise His Holy Name!
