A Mediator is one that brings about friendly relations between two or more estranged parties; an Intercessor; a Peacemaker.
In 1st Timothy 2:1-5 the Apostle Peter wrote, I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men.
Jesus is the Ultimate Mediator, however the Apostle Paul is Strongly Urging the Saints to be a Mediator of sorts for one another by Praying for one another and by Standing Up for one another and Building Up one another.
The duties of a Mediator is not left up to one individual but, is given to ALL the Saints as part of the Body of Christ.
*For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. *For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; *Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
Who knows what the effort and time that one Individual (Soul) does on the behalf of another Individual (Soul) or group of individuals (Souls) accomplishes?
Therefore, let’s take up the reigns of Mediation.
**For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
We need to remember that each and every individual (Soul) is part of the Body of Christ therefore, as a Member in Particular, we too are to be Doing as Jesus would have us to do.
The Apostle Paul in Romans 8:33-34 wrote, Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. **Who is he that condemneth?
It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
When the Saints are Living (Doing and Speaking) according to the Written Word of God “YHWH” the Bible, they are then Justifiably Blameless in the Eyes of the Lord, regardless of what anyone may say against them. Jesus is the One that Witnesses to the Justification of the Saints.
We read in Hebrews 7:25-26, Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. *For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens.
Jesus has the Ability to Save a Soul from sin and by the Power of the Holy Spirit He is Able to Keep them. Jesus, being our High Priest, has Delegated His Authority to the Saints in that He has made us to be Kings and Priest unto our God “YHWH.”
In Romans 8:26-37 the Apostle Paul wrote, Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
**And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
Our Heavenly Father in His Great Love, Mercy and Compassion for the Saints hath Given to us His Holy Spirit to Intercede for us, to Comfort us, to Empower and Strengthen us, to Lead, Guide, Direct and Teach un in ALL Truth. Praise His Holy Name!
We read in Hebrews 12:23-26, To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect.
Although, in the flesh, the Saints may sometimes appear not to be Perfect yet, in Jesus, we are Made Perfect according to the Power of His Majesty.
**And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
Because Jesus was Willing to Giving Up His Life; He Became the Prime Mediator for every Soul that is willing to Accept Him as their Lord and Saviour.
I, for one, am so Thankful that I no longer have to physically Sacrifice a lamb or any other living creature for my sins against the Lord. I am so Thankful that Jesus was Willing to Become my Sacrificial Lamb and that He not only was my Sacrifice but, He is Still the Only Acceptable Sacrifice for the sin that I may commit.
*See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:
*Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.
There are some folks when confronted, with coming before a Judge in Court, refuse the assistance of an Attorney and rather choose to represent their-self; this sometimes turns out poorly.
A Soul that Refuses to Accept Jesus to Represent them before God “YHWH” always results in Loss.
The Prophet Isaiah in Isaiah 53:12 wrote, Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
From the Beginning of Time Jesus has always, as it were, had the backs (Mediated) of the Souls that Put their Trust in Him.
In 2nd Corinthians 5:17-19 the Apostle Paul wrote, Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. **And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; **To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
God “YHWH” Determined at the Beginning of time to Provide, as it were, a Court Appointed Attorney to Represent mankind for their Transgressions (sins) Against Him.
We read in St. John 20:23, Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.
The Lord, “YHWH” because of His Great Love and Mercy Provide for mankind His Only Begotten Son Jesus, as Mediator between mankind and the Lord.
Jesus as Mediator and being of the Same Nature of His Father, has Chosen to Share the Authority He Received from God “YHWH” with those Souls (Saints) that Accept Him as their Saviour.
In other words, Jesus has given the Saints the Authority of a Mediator to Reconcile the Soul of Saints that sometimes fall short (sin) of the Will of the Lord to Bring them Back into Covenant Relationship with the Lord.
The Apostle John in 1st John 5:16 wrote, If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
Perhaps, it would be easiest to define sins that are unto death (sins that carry a Death Penalty). First and foremost would be, Blasphemy Against the Holy Ghost and then, there would be Adultery, Murder, Rape, Kidnapping, Witchcraft and Sodomy. A Soul (person) that sins a sin that is unto Death (that carries a Death Penalty) MUST PERSONALLY seek and ask for Forgiveness of a sin that is unto Death.
All the other sins, if not Repented of, will eventually result in a Death Sentence if a Soul (person) continues in them.
However, these sins the Lord has said that He is Willing to Forgive if one of His Children (a Saint) prays for another Soul (person) that has committed a sin not unto Death in the Name of Jesus, God “YHWH” will Forgive their sin. Praise His Holy Name!
In Jeremiah 7:16 the Prophet Jeremiah wrote, Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me: for I will not hear thee.
There sometimes comes a time when the Lord will no longer be Petitioned for a soul (Person) or a group of individuals because of their Gross Sins, see Psalms 103:8-9.
The Apostle James in James 5:16 wrote, Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
The Saints are instructed to be Intercessors (Mediators) for one another. Let’s look at it like this; since we (the Saints) are ALL Part of the Same Body; the Church, the Body of Christ; we are Members, one of another; and as Members and Part of the same Body, we are to Build up and Care for one another; in so doing, we are Actually Building up and Caring for our own Body.
In Isaiah 59:15-17 the Prophet Isaiah wrote, Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment. **And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.
The Arm of the Lord “YHWH” is His Only Begotten Son Jesus. I for one am thankful that His Arm is Stretched out Still to Deliver and Save.
*For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak.
Jesus is an Effective Mediator; He is Fully Able to Deliver that which He has Promised.
Praise His Holy and Righteous Name!
