To repeat precisely a matter or perhaps to parrot.
I think that one of the most important things we need to do is follow the example of Jesus. Jesus said, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. St. Matthew 5:19
In Hebrews 3:7-13 we read, Wherefore as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, *Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: *When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years. *Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways. *So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.) *Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. *But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
All too many people want to do things their own way. The Bible states that a good man is satisfied from himself, Proverbs 14:14. That means that we are willing to lay down our own thoughts and ways and observe and do the Perfect Will of the Heavenly Father. See also Isaiah 58:13 in reference to speaking our own words.
The Apostle John in St. John 12:38 in part wrote, (Esaias speaking, said) Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?
Often times people have a difficult time believing the Written Word of God. Part of the reason for this is that they are willingly ignorant. 2nd Peter 3:5
In St. Matthew 13:14-15 we read, (Jesus speaking) And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: *For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
There is none so blind as they who will not see and there is none so deaf as they who will not hear. People, for the most part, don’t like to think or admit they are or could be wrong. Change in and of itself is difficult at best. But to those that are willing to let the Spirit of the Living God lead them, they will find that change for the good is possible.
The Apostle Mark in St. Mark 7:6-7 wrote, (Jesus doing the speaking) He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. *Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
It’s easy for a person to say a thing, but to follow through with the doing of it is a little more difficult. Far too often though, the one saying they will observe and do that which is right, has absolutely no intention of compliance. Therefore, that which they do has no value at all.
In Romans 3:11 the Apostle Paul said, There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
My, my! Or should I say, “Oh Me?’ To think that he could say that “There are none that understandeth or seeketh after God” is almost unthinkable. King David in the Psalms said it like this, “There is none that doeth good, no not one.”
The Apostle Paul confirmed the same in Romans 3:12. King Solomon in Ecclesiastes 7:28 in speaking about wisdom said, One man among a thousand have I found; but a woman among all those have I not found.
The Apostle Paul in Romans 11:8 wrote, According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear; unto this day.
I find today, that it is exactly like the Apostle Paul said, all too many people do not want to hear the Truth. Some of their reasoning for this is that they think if they don’t know, that they won’t be held accountable. But this reasoning is far from the Truth. In fact, the Apostle Paul In 2nd Thessalonians 2:11-12 the Apostle Paul also said, God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: *That they all might be damned who believed not the truth.
In Hebrews 10:38 It Is Written, Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
That word “Now” means today, this very moment, those that want to be found Holy and Righteous, must live by doing the Written Word of God because Faith is an Action Word.
And in fact, the word "Faith" (which comes by hearing the Word) is what causes a person that is not a forgetful hearer, to be a "Doer" of the Word. The Written Word of God is the Center Focal Point of their life.
The Apostle Paul in Romans 1:17 said, ”the just shall live by faith.”
Works, or the doing of the Written Word of God, is Faith and without the observance or doing of the Written Word of God, there can be no Faith.
In Romans 7:7 the Apostle Paul wrote, What shall we say then? is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
The Law of God is our road map that guides us, His Children, through this world. If you will, the Written Word of God is that Highway of Holiness, Isaiah 35:8. And the Saints of the Most High God cannot afford to allow anything to deter them from that way.
The Apostle Paul in Romans 7:12 wrote, Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.
If the Commandment and the Law are Holy, Just and Good, there should be no reason to change it, in any way, or to abolish it.
In Hebrews 3:2 we read, Who (Jesus) was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.
Though Moses was faithful in all his house, we cannot afford to do like he did, at one point, when he failed to Sanctify the Lord in the eyes of the people by disobeying the Command of the Lord at the Waters of Meribah in Kadesh. Numbers 27:14
In 2nd Timothy 2:19 the Apostle Paul said, Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
The Word of God standeth sure because it cannot fail and it does not change. Jesus said, “Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.” St. John 15:14
The Apostle Paul in 2nd Corinthians 6:17 wrote, Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
The People of the Living God are Called Out, Chosen and Faithful, Revelation 17:14. The Saints of God must be a Separated People like the Apostle Paul, in Romans 1:1.
The Prophet Isaiah in Isaiah 52:11 says it this way, Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD.
In the Book of Revelation we read that an abominable or unclean person will not enter into the Kingdom of God. Jesus is coming back to receive a Holy and Righteous People that are without Spot or Wrinkle. Ephesians 5:27
In 1st Peter 3”10-12 the Apostle Peter said, For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: *Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it. *For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
There are those that will tell you that you cannot be righteous; that you cannot be perfect. But my Bible, God’s Holy Word, tells me that we can and must be perfect if we expect to enter into the Kingdom of God.
Apostle Paul said, All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: *That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. 2nd Timothy 3:16-17
In closing, in Hebrews 4:3 we read (in part), The works were finished from the foundation of the world.
God had it all figured out from the Beginning, that there is a way, Jesus Christ the Righteous, and we must be like Him in every way, if we want to dwell with Him in Life for evermore. Praise His Holy and Righteous Name!
